What we collect, and why

Last updated 4 October 2026

tingkat.ai is pre-launch. The main thing this site does with your data is keep a list of people who want early access. Here is exactly what that involves.

When you join the waitlist

We store your email address, the language of the page, which sign-up form you used, and the time. They go into a Google Sheet that only the tingkat.ai team can open, and we get an email with your address telling us you signed up. The site runs on Vercel, whose server logs also record each sign-up. We use your address to tell you when you can install the app, and for the occasional progress update. We don’t sell it or share it with anyone else.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast pages load. They don’t use cookies and don’t identify you. When you join the waitlist, we record that a sign-up happened and on which form, never your email.

Spam protection

To stop the sign-up form being flooded, the server remembers the network address each request came from. It’s held only in the server’s memory, is never saved anywhere, is cleared when the server restarts, and is never linked to your email.

Getting your data deleted

Email hello@tingkat.ai from the address you signed up with and we’ll remove it from the list and from our notification inbox. You can also reply to any email we send.

In the app: usage stats and crash reports

The app keeps your progress on your phone. It asks once, at the end of setup, whether to “Share anonymous usage stats”, and sends nothing until you say yes. You can change your answer any time in Profile. If you say yes, the app sends two things. Usage events go to PostHog, in the EU: which screens you open, when you start and finish a lesson, and numbers like your score and streak, under a random ID that isn’t linked to you. Crash reports go to Sentry, in the EU: what went wrong in the code, and when each app session starts and stops, so we can count how many sessions end in a crash. Both also get your phone’s model, system version, and language and time zone settings. Neither ever gets your name, your email, anything you type (tutor questions, prompts, the name you give your pet), a recording of your screen, or your location, and neither keeps your IP address. Say no, or turn the switch off later, and both stop straight away. This will grow into a full privacy policy for the app before it launches.

In the app: the AI tutor’s rate limit

So the AI tutor and lesson experiments can’t be flooded, the app makes a random ID the first time it opens and sends it, with your network address, each time it asks our server for an AI reply. The server uses them only to count requests, as counters that expire after 10 minutes. It never logs them, and never links them to your progress, the usage stats above, or anything else. The ID says nothing about you or your phone.
